With the cubs in a new hiding place, the male tiger Charger approached, howling as he came. Sita greeted him aggressively, snarling, and then turned sweet, rubbing and caressing his flank. When he lay down at a safe distance from the den, Sita went back and called one cub out, laying in the stream bed and licking the cub. This was Charger’s first contact with his cubs.
